Accessibility statement
This website aims to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. This statement records what has actually been tested against that target, and what has not.
The standard we aim for
WCAG 2.2 level AA. That is a voluntary target for a private practice rather than a legal requirement, and it is the standard the site has been built and checked against.
This statement does not claim conformance. It records the checks that have been carried out and the ones that have not, so you can judge what that is worth.
If something does not work
If any part of this site is difficult or impossible to use, please tell the practice - it will be treated as a fault to fix rather than a preference.
You can reach the practice by telephone or email using the details on the enquiry page, and you are welcome to telephone rather than use any form on this site.
What has been tested
Each of these was measured or exercised in a browser against a running build.
- Keyboard operation
- Every control can be reached and used with a keyboard. The mobile menu opens, closes with Escape, and returns focus to the button that opened it.
- Focus visibility
- Focus indicators are drawn on every interactive element, including on the dark footer and the deep closing panels.
- Target size
- Shared controls in the header - navigation links, the theme control and the menu button - are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
- Form errors
- Submitting the enquiry form with something missing moves focus to the first field that needs attention, clear of the sticky header.
- Reduced motion
- Every animation on the site is switched off when your device or browser is set to reduce motion. No movement is essential to understanding any page.
- Reflow and zoom
- Pages were checked at 1440, 1280, 390 and 375 pixels wide, in both light and dark appearance, with no sideways scrolling at any of them.
- Headings and structure
- Each page has one main heading and a heading order that does not skip levels, so the page can be navigated by structure.
- Text contrast
- Specific text and control colours were measured against their backgrounds in both appearances and meet the AA ratio.
What has not been checked
Published deliberately. Leaving these out would turn the list above into a conformance claim.
- Screen readers
- The site has not yet been tested with VoiceOver, NVDA or JAWS. Structure and labelling were built for it, but built for is not the same as tested with.
- Independent audit
- No third-party accessibility audit has been carried out.
- Full contrast sweep
- Colour contrast was measured on specific elements rather than swept exhaustively across every combination on every page.
- Safari and older browsers
- Testing has been carried out in a Chromium browser. Safari and older browser versions have not been checked directly.
- Content still in draft
- Some wording on this site is still under review, and readability has not been assessed as part of that review.
